Kiwanis is a worldwide service organization for men and women who want to give something back to their community. The name “Kiwanis” was coined from an expression in an American Indian language of the Detroit area, Nunc Kee-wanis, which means, “we trade” or “we have a good time.”The operative motto for Kiwanis clubs is “Serving The Children of the World.” Founded in 1915, Kiwanis now has over 600,000 members in 96 countries around the world. We raise funds to serve a variety of community projects and also volunteer our time. Our club offers good fellowship at our weekly meetings and offers friendships that can last a lifetime.
