San Joaquin County Solid Waste is a division of the Public Works Department that operates landfills and recycling facilities while administering state-required waste diversion
and public education programs to conserve resources and protect public health and the environment. It provides services such as residential refuse
the Lovelace Transfer Station, North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill, Foothill Sanitary Landfill, and the Household Hazardous Waste Facility,
collection, commercial recycling, numerous diversion programs (e.g., tires, organics, medicines), and public outreach. County disposal facilities include
as well as the closed landfills at Corral Hollow and Harney Lane. The Solid Waste Division is extremely passionate about outreach to the general public
so as to conserve resources, and preserve public health and safety and the environment.
