San Joaquin County Office of Education SELPA/Workability Program
The Workability I Program is a career awareness, exploration and training program for special education students ages 12-22 in middle school, secondary education and young adult programs. This program provides paid job training opportunities for students 16 years and older at local businesses who participate as job training sites. Students and job training site personnel receive ongoing support and guidance from WAI vocational staff. Benefits to businesses who participate include: job ready trainees, 16 years and older, who are anxious to learn and work, no cost to the training site to participate in the program, training paid for by WAI. It also includes Workers Compensation insurance. If you are interested in providing an opportunity for Workability students to train at your business, please contact Judy Casetta at 209-468-4908.
